Consultations

herbs hanging on a wall with jars in a shelf alongside them

Working with herbs over these last years has led me to a practice of acquainting others with plants that can help them heal. I blend intuition with a traditional understanding of herbal medicine to address individual health goals and concerns; I formulate for individuals because herbs are like people – they’re complex and interact in very individual ways with each person.

For example some people have allergies to specific herbs not usually understood to cause an allergic reaction. And despite turmeric’s well understood benefits, a person with a hot and dry constitution would probably not benefit from continual use of turmeric because it too has hot and dry properties, and would likely create an imbalance. Some herbs are considered tonic, which is to say they are gentle, supportive, and can be taken over an extended period. Others are considered strictly medicinal and should be treated as medicine; one wouldn’t take those continually.

With all of that said, herbs can nourish us, help us focus, sleep, or calm anxiety, give us energy, and heal internally and externally with surprising effectiveness.

If you are interested in a consultation, It’s best to complete and share my client intake form at least 24 hours before we meet. I’ll provide that when we agree to a time for your consultation. The information you share in the form will help me to prepare for our meeting.

The consultation will include a suggested herbal protocol specific to your individual needs. I’m happy to answer any question you have related to my suggestions.

Follow up consults are set according to your needs and can run for a half hour to an hour, depending on your health concerns. Generally an herbal protocol is followed for at least a month, often longer, and you may wish to schedule a follow-up to evaluate how things are going and whether we should make an adjustment to the herbs you are taking.

You may purchase your herbs through me if I have them on hand or on your own; the consultation does not include the suggested herbs.
